Press release: EGDF, the European federation representing the video games industry in Europe, is delighted to announce that WALGA has become a member of EGDF.

25 August 2024 – The European Game Developers Federation (EGDF) continues its expansion, as WALGA, the Wallonia games association, joined EGDF.

The membership of WALGA strengthens our voice in Brussels to defend European game developers. We are more than happy to welcome Wallonia game developers into our network to share best practices, solve the industry’s challenges, and unite ourselves in building a European game industry on European terms. All game developers must have access to EU funding opportunities.

The Wallonia game developer association is the 24th member of the Federation. The Federation has been steadily expanding its activities, especially in East and Southeast Europe, now covering 22 European countries. EGDF is focused on helping European game developers access talent, funding, and a route to the top of the game industry value chain —all challenges Wallonia game developers are also struggling with.

“WALGA, the industry association for Wallonia (the French-speaking region of Belgium), has for many years shared an EGDF membership with FLEGA, its counterpart in Flanders, the northern region of the country. Given the significant and rapid development of the sector in Wallonia and the increase in the association’s financial resources, it seemed only natural that we should also become a full member of the EGDF.
In order to support and be involved in the remarkable work carried out by EGDF, WALGA and its members are delighted that our application for full membership has been accepted. We look forward to continuing to work together to provide the best possible support to the players in our industry and to make a difference together at European level.“  said Jean Gréban, Coordinator of WALGA
